With the recent release of the Community Health Improvement Plan II (2017-2021), Live Healthy Douglas has adjusted our focus to address new health issues facing our community, but we can’t do it alone. Live Healthy Douglas relies on community involvement to get our work done, and we would love to have YOU join us! We happily accept organizations and individuals from diverse backgrounds and all different walks of life. All you need is a desire to help make positive health changes in our community. Join us and become a part of this unified community partnership that works together to achieve optimal health for all those who live, learn, work, and play in Douglas County!

What does engagement look like?

Comprised of a diverse group of representatives from public, private, and volunteer entities, our coalition accomplishes its work through several groups, teams, and committees.

  • Steering Committees – A cross-sector group of community leaders overseeing the strategic planning process within each county. Steering committee members are responsible for guiding, advising and bringing resources to both the Community Health Assessment (CHA) and Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP).
  • Implementation Teams – Organizations and community members engaged in planning, facilitating and evaluating the initiatives of the partnership.
  • Workgroups – Individual teams of community partners and subject matter experts dedicated to implementing the evidence-based initiatives highlighted within the county’s Community Health Improvement Plan. Workgroup members have community knowledge and a desire to advocate for a healthier county. The workgroups provide a space for partners to network and collaborate on shared goals and objectives.

If you’re not quite ready to join Live Healthy Douglas, you can still support the work of the coalition by making positive changes related to your health or your family’s health! See our Resources page to learn more.

Denyse Companies

DeNyse Companies is a full-service company, providing design and installation for architectural signage, commercial signage, lighting, and solar products.  DeNyse has been named Douglas County Business of the Year twice and has been named one of Atlanta’s Best Places to Work by Atlanta Magazine.

DeNyse is represented on the Live Healthy Douglas Steering Committee by Ms. Amy Baillie, Director of Marketing & New Business Development with DeNyse. After over a year of valued Steering Committee involvement, Ms. Ballie was nominated as the Live Healthy Douglas Chair and now leads the coalition. In addition to being the Chair, she is the Communications I-Team Chair for Live Healthy Douglas, heading the communication efforts for the coalition. Over the summer, she used her marketing expertise to develop a communications action plan for increasing community awareness and engagement. With that, she is now working with the DeNyse in-house design team to create Live Healthy Douglas infographics. Ms. Baillie is the kind of partner who happily lends any resources she can to help the coalition, simply because she genuinely cares about the health of her community.

You might have seen signs by DeNyse throughout The Battery in Atlanta or at the Bank of Ozarks in Douglasville, but signs aren’t the only mark DeNyse has on the community – DeNyse generously gives back to the community through their charity organization, DeNyse Cares. DeNyse also values health and wellness, and for the past two years, has been implementing various efforts to improve the health of its employees. For example, they moved out many of the unhealthy snacks in their vending machine and replaced it with a HealthySnacks Machine to help promote healthy eating.

The invaluable support provided to Douglas County and Live Healthy Douglas by DeNyse and Ms. Baillie demonstrates that you do not need a health-related background to make a positive impact in your community’s health. Thank you to DeNyse and Ms. Amy Baillie for all the incredible things that you do!
